The sprawling Aquaventure Water Park is centre piece of the Bahamas Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. With water slides, lazy river, pools, aquariums and beach access; this is an attraction for the whole family.
If there’s one place in the Bahamas that combines natural and artificial beauty, it’s the Atlantis Bahamas Water Park. Whether you choose to cool off in the park’s mile-long lazy river or feel your heart leave your chest as you zip down slides and pass through shark-infested waters, Aquaventure Waterpark is a must-visit destination. It’s also accessible, as day passes make it possible to explore the 141-waterscape no matter how much time you have in the Bahamas.
The Atlantis Bahamas Water Park offers 141 acres of tropical fun
The Atlantis Bahamas Water Park is on Paradise Island, a resort island connected by bridge to New Providence. The easiest way to get to Atlantis Aquaventure is by hailing a cab, which will cost you around $5 per person (or $20 if you’re a solo traveler) from downtown Nassau.
Given the size of the resort and the number of people that purchase day passes, it’s best to arrive at Atlantis as soon as possible. Pre-purchasing day passes can save you from waiting in a long line – just ensure that you bring IDs, printed receipts, printed and signed waiver forms, and the credit card you used for purchase. If you’re looking to buy day passes on your day of entry, try to get in line no later than 8:15 am.
Aquaventure Waterpark hours are from 9 am to 9 pm, giving you plenty of time to soak up all the excitement Atlantis has to offer once you make it inside.
Paradise Island is home to many of the top Nassau resorts, including Atlantis and the Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort. Previously known as Hog island, developers began building the expansive hotels that populate the island’s 685 acres in the 1960s.
Today, you’ll find most of the top resorts on Cabbage Beach, a picturesque 2-mile long stretch of powdery white sand. While you can find beautiful beaches on New Providence, Cabbage Beach is arguably the prettiest.
Atlantis Aquaventure borders the beautiful Cabbage Beach.
Before you arrive at the Atlantis Bahamas Water Park, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the park layout and different attractions. Doing so will help you avoid queuing for longer than you need to and help you make the most of your time.
The Atlantis water slides are where you’ll find the exhilarating rides that make the Atlantis Bahamas Water Park famous.
The two most popular slides are:
The Atlantis water slides all have unique themes.
Unlike those at other resorts and parks, the lazy river at the Atlantis Bahamas Water Park is anything but lazy. As you float on your inner tube, you’ll go over drop offs and through white water rapids, ensuring that you never get bored while making your way down the mile-long river.
Expect things to get wetter than you anticipate!
The Rapids River, the longest Lazy River in the Bahamas
For vacationers who love marine life, the Atlantis Bahamas Water Park offers incredible access to different underwater species. From feeding rays at Water’s Edge Lagoon to swimming with schools of tropical fish at Ruins Lagoon, the aquariums offer guests the chance to partake in all sorts of exciting activities.
If you’re able to stay into the evening, make sure to visit the aquariums at night. The lights around the park will blow you away!
From the Atlantis Shark Water Slide to aquariums and pools, you can find marine life all over the park.
Rapids River is quite different from other lazy rivers
