The only winery in Nassau, Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas is worth a visit even if you’re not a wine connoisseur. It’s proximity to other attractions makes it the perfect stop to add to your Nassau itinerary.
Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas is the first and only winery in Nassau. Located in Graycliff Heritage Village, the winery is easy to reach, no matter how long you’re in the capital. And with a unique blend of flavors in each tasting and proximity to several other attractions, visiting Graycliff Nassau is something you’ll want to do.
The Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant is one of the oldest buildings on the island. Constructed in 1740 by a pirate captain, the building changed hands several times over the centuries. In 1973, it became the luxury hotel it is today.
The hotel operates the surrounding area called the Graycliff Nassau Heritage Village, where you’ll find Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas. Whether you’re in Nassau for the afternoon or are staying there for a week, getting there is easy.
From the cruise ship terminal, it’ll take you ten minutes to walk to Graycliff. One of the perks of going there is that the Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant is just outside of the area where the majority of tourists tend to congregate.
If you’re staying on another part of New Providence or are on Paradise Island, you can also take a taxi.
Most of the attractions in the village are open seven days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm. The same goes for Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas.
Graycliff Bahamas is on West Hill Street in Downtown Nassau. All of the main attractions in the Heritage Village are there, so you won’t have to worry about needing to walk far to get from place to place once you arrive.
Outside of Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas and the Heritage Village, you’ll find many other exciting attractions. From history and culture to scenic vistas, make sure to do a walking tour of Nassau Old Town before leaving the island.
For $55 (as of 2023*), you can sign up for a wine blending tour at Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas. Doing so lets you go behind the scenes to learn about many of the nuances that go along with wine tasting. From grape production to subtle flavors, the expert you work with will fill you in on everything you need to know.
During the tour, you’ll also get to blend your own bottle of wine. You can then bring this home with you.
Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas has many unique blends to taste. Made by combining grapes from different countries with one another, the flavors are unique. They’re also certain to be unlike anything you’ve tasted before!
After making your way through Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas, don’t the area before exploring some of the other Graycliff Bahamas attractions.
The Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant, for example, is a great place to grab an upscale lunch or dinner. Likewise, the Graycliff Chocolatier lets you sample local sweets (or make your own), while the Heritage Museum of the Bahamas is home to one of the most extensive collections of historical goods in the country.
All are worth visiting!
Bahama Barrels Graycliff Bahamas may be the only winery in Nassau, but it’s a fantastic venue in its own right. Combining great tastes, a unique setting, and proximity to other Graycliff Bahamas highlights, it’s one destination you’ll want on your Nassau itinerary.
