3. Hail a Cab to explore Nassau & Paradise Island

The new Nassau Bahamas Port also features a taxi dispatch. This makes getting to some of the more remote New Providence destinations a breeze.

The site is also the place to sign up for many of the different tours that take place around the Nassau area.

4. Sample Different Chocolates

The new Nassau Bahamas Port Marketplace has local attractions like the Graycliff Chocolatier offering artisan and locally produced chocolates in Nassau Cruise Terminal.

One of the attractions on the island you can look into taxiing to is Graycliff Heritage Village. Located around the historic Graycliff Hotel, the accompanying village houses a chocolatier, a winery, a cigar factory, and a historical museum, among other things.

That said, the new cruise port sells chocolates from Graycliff right at the Port Marketplace.

5. Visit the James Bond History at the Cruise Terminal

If you’re a fan of James Bond, you’ll be happy to learn that the Bahamas was a filming location for several different movies. From the docks of the Nassau Bahamas Port to the fence at John Watling’s Distillery, the superspy element adds another element of history to the already colorful island.

“Never Say Never Again” is a James Bond film released in 1983, starring Sean Connery as James Bond. The movie was primarily filmed in various locations, including the South of France, England, and the Bahamas. Some scenes were shot in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, but specific filming locations within Nassau may vary.

Prince George’s Wharf featured in scenes shot in Nassau for Never Say Never Again. However since the 2023 redevelopment of the Cruise Port terminal, the original buildings caught on film are no longer standing. However scenes from the same chapter of the film were filmed at the nearby Rawson Square and British Colonial hotel.

Know what’s walkable and what isn’t: The new taxi dispatch makes it easy to access many of the top things to do in Nassau Cruise Port. However, you should be able to easily reach most of the Downtown Nassau attractions on foot. Before committing to a cab, look at a map of the island to understand if it’s necessary.
