While it might not be as expansive as Times Square, Parliament Square Bahamas has some of the oldest and most culturally significant attractions on New Providence.
Queen Victoria was the monarch who ruled Great Britain for over 60 years in the 19th Century. During that time, she oversaw the largest empire in world history, ruling over 25% of the globe.
On May 24th, 1905 (four years after her death), the Bahamian government erected a statue of Queen Victoria in Parliament Square. Today, over 100 years later, it continues to stand as a testament to the Bahamas history as a British colony.

There are three colorful buildings found along the edges of Parliament Square Bahamas:
The House of Assembly is where lawmakers meet to debate and discuss how they believe the country should progress forward. This building is on the right-hand side of the square.
The Senate Building is where the 16 members of the Bahamian Senate meet to discuss matters of state when they’re not in the House of Assembly. You can find it in the center of the square, behind the statue of Queen Victoria.
The Supreme Court of the Bahamas is on the left side of the square. Its members meet four times a year and don traditional British robes and wigs when they do.
